Introducing Real-Time Workflow Triggers

September 23, 2026

Middle’s new real-time webhook trigger feature gives you a faster way to react to events that need to be processed synchronously. For example, when a prospective member submits a trial form on your website, your team should be able to act immediately.

‍

Middle’s new real-time webhook triggers let an outside system send an event directly to Middle and start a workflow as soon as the event arrives. Instead of waiting for the next scheduled check, Middle can use the incoming information to create or update a prospect, route the lead to the right location, and notify the team responsible for following up.

‍

What is a real-time trigger?

Real-time triggers are given a callable URL that is authenticated with an API key you generate within a Middle account. When a webhook or request calls your real-time trigger, a workflow is run immediately. The workflow runs, performing actions to your integrated apps, and then provides a response to the calling system. The response ensures that the source system can react to the results of the workflow run.

‍

Any application on the internet can call Middle's real-time workflows, unlocking your ability to build custom integrations and automations that run in real time.

‍

See Middle's documentation for more details.

Example use cases

A prospective member fills out a website form. The form sends a webhook to Middle, and Middle immediately creates the prospect in the membership system, attaches the original form details, and routes the lead to the right location or sales rep.

‍

A new invoice is created in an accounting or billing system. That invoice event triggers a Middle workflow, which sends the payment details to an external payment processor, records the result, and updates the invoice status once the payment is complete.

‍

A customer books an appointment through an online scheduler. The booking event triggers Middle to look up the customer, update their membership or CRM record, notify the assigned staff member, and add the appointment details to the right downstream system.

‍

A faster way to build event-driven workflows

Middle already helps teams connect systems, sync data, and build flexible workflows across apps. Real-time webhook triggers add another way to start those workflows: directly from the event itself.

‍

For teams building automations around leads, payments, appointments, support tickets, product activity, or custom business processes, webhook triggers make Middle more responsive and more flexible.
